This organisation is a genuine "grass roots" community group recently formed in Tumut, NSW Australia. It was formed through an initial enquiry about the the cost of ultrasound services in Wagga Wagga.

The resulting discoveries were surprising, inexplicable and unsatisfactory. By asking questions through the local newspapers, a situation relating to the unavailabilty of ultrasound services (even for inpatients) in Wagga Wagga Base Hospital has resulted in allocations of money by administrators to install a new ultrasound unit in Wagga Wagga hospital.

About the same time an article in the Tumut & Adelong Times indicated a series of meetings were to be held in Tumut to help finalise a "Health Services Plan" for the Tumut Shire.

This process produced a Draft plan and then a Final Plan and an Implementation Plan.

From these plans, members of  No more bandaid solutions Inc. found that the new hospital for Tumut (that the community thought they were about to have built) was not on the radar screen for many years. This discovery lead to a public awareness campaign calling for authorities to stop adopting a bandaid approach to the existing hospital, but instead, aim at building a new hospital in Tumut as soon as possible.

The people of Wagga Wagga have been (for some years) talking about either a new regional hospital or the redevelopment of its existing hospital. The people of Batlow have gone further than this, and have gained some funding for a new Multi Purpose Service to replace their very dilapidated hospital - but as yet work on the MPS is not even at the planning stage.

No more bandaid solutions Inc. strongly supports ALL these hospital infrastructure initiatives. Together they will vastly improve the medical facilities for the Eastern Riverina.
